Re: Heard Around The Water Cooler - Forum Updates

I humbly apologize to Mr Anderson, and OM1, with regards to the email incident. The error is mine. and mine alone.

I deleted the posts, and retract my accusations. I see where I went wrong. Not that it's an excuse, But OM1's crude reply just pissed me off. the contents of both instances were similar, and in my haste to respond, I misread the entire content.

i write this retraction not because of Mr Anderson's threat  of "suing", (Mr A, that's an idle threat, good luck in litigation between 2 web personas), but because it is the right thing to do. You fuck up, You own up, and then take your lumps. that's it.

Yes, we are but only bits and pieces of it coming thru on the public side rather than speak incorrectly I would appreciate all the facts.  I am waiting for statements from Skylar and Atlantis for life and I'm hearing everything you are saying.  Thanks by the way and I haven't judged you.  In regards to Mr. Anderson, the accusation is totally out of character for him IMO so I will heed no directive by anyone else.

I apologize again, in case you missed it. I was mad too. :) Now Im just frustrated, but if we can keep this going things will become clear and ALL of us can at least have clarity, even if the group stays split in the end. I hope there will be peace. Thats what I want, that and vindication.

I AM SORRY I SENT YOU THAT NASTY MESSAGE.

The truth as in the Global ignore function that you as an expert claims does not exist ? LOL

Piggy, there is NO SUCH THING as a "global ignore" in vBulletin. If there is, please point it out in the vBulletin Manual here:

http://www.vbulletin.com/docs/html/

I was amused at the notion that you still thought your posts existed at GateFans but were somehow on a non-existent "global ignore". NO SUCH THING, sorry. Your posts amounted to about 1,900 posts and when they were deleted along with those for Atlantis4Life and the others, it was a total of a little over 6000 posts. That brought the original 37,000 down to 31,000, but we have since collected more than 1000 posts.

Why the speculation when there is a complete vBulletin Manual available online? There is NO excuse for that, Piggy. I certainly hope whatever you are going through will pass...this entire rift can be condensed down to a single act that YOU committed out of (who knows), and you did not rectify it. Now the group is split because of the domino effect.

But anyway, this "global ignore" thing you have been talking about simply DOES NOT EXIST.

There does seem to be a "global ignore" feature. Going to that link you've provided and selecting Appendix 2->Admin Control Panel Features->Users and Usergroup-> "Global ignore user aka 'Tachy goes to Coventry' - when enabled all posts by the specified user will be ignored/unseen by other members. Automatically added to the all users ignore lists "

Now whether or not you are using it is another story but it does seem to exist...

LOL, if you know what they are calling "global ignore" (Tachy goes to Coventry), then you know that using that does not cause the total forum post count to drop, since posts are not deleted. After piggy's posts and others were deleted, the post count dropped 6000. I deleted another 1,900 posts from PSW last night as well (at her request). What sense would it make to keep them???

ex: you have 100 posts total in the entire forum, and you use TGTC (global ignore) it may hide the posts but the post COUNT remains unchanged. Total forum posts includes those in hidden and private forums as well. The Manual is there for ALL to see.

Piggy's posts are permanently deleted and cannot be restored, and neither can the others which have been deleted. I wrote a custome query to remove posts whilst preserving the threads. That way, if the thread starter is one of those being deleted, the next message in the thread becomes the opening thread. Quotes remain, however.

George Bullock,

What is Skyler's legal name?  What is his e-mail address?  Does he own a web site?  What is his postal address?  I do not want to spam him; I just want to confirm that he is a real person.

Yep, but Skyler lives on the east coast and is 20-something in school. Your scenario makes NO sense whatsoever. As of THIS morning, ownership is mine...temporarily. Until I give it back voluntarily to Skyler who is NOT me. If he WAS me, then I would have deleted your hillbilly ass from this forum long ago.

I can fully say that I am not Overmind. I live in North Carolina, and am in school studying theatre. I am actually 19, will be 20 on the 25th. If you think your going to get my full name, postal address, or anything else relating to me personally your crazy.

I know nothing about vBulletin. I just did a search to see if "global ignore" would come up. I see that the feature does exist but now see the evidence suggests that it is not being used.

Skyler, WHY dont you MAKE SOME TIME and stay here to help straighten this shit out? I have no intention of keeping your domains or any measure of control AT ALL. I will give all the control back to you and also the three domains I bought for you. I simply wanted to disarm the combatants and force dialogue. IT WORKED. We are talking....I need to contact you so that you can make the necessary changes in the Registrar's record. Because my name and address are on the GoDaddy file, along with my debit card, thats why they granted me full control without question. I will immediately give it back to you because that is the HONEST and RIGHT thing to do. You know I am no thief. Please send me an email to let me know you have seen this, as I see you are now offline....AGAIN.

Overmind taking control of the godaddy account, was and is extremely childish, and you know that. Anything anyone wants to know I will be more than happy to tell you the truth.

First, up until this little seizing control incident, I had no issues with overmind. He is a grown man capable of making his own decisions.

He donated the hosting for the former forum. So yes technically speaking it belongs to him. As no contract or other legally binding agreement was signed. He has been more than willing to help us in getting our new forum up and running. However we have team members that to the best of my knowlage are more than capable of doing so on their own. So I have not requested his help. He has provided a copy of the forum to us.

He did purchase some domain names, of which he donated to SGUS.

He provided a valuable service to us, while we were getting started. Things have happened and we have now split ways. As far as I know George and I are still on good terms, and if there are any other issues just ask plain and simple.

The difference is: Tachy goes to Coventry does NOT REDUCE FORUM TOTAL POSTS. The number is unchanged, because the posts are present but just not visible. When Piggy's posts were deleted, the TOTAL FORUM POSTS was reduced by about 1,970. I deleted a total of just over 6000 posts, and when SGUS was online last, the count was 37,000. GateFans total count dropped to 31,000.

IDK where A4L is. I have been bouncing back and forth between the forum and my email accounts. I will now bounce back over and send you an email.

If there are any other issues that need to be discussed, simply post your question and I will be happy to respond.

THANK YOU!!!!

Yes it was/is childish...an act of desperation.

This is all I wanted you to do, Skyler. Without you verifying things, it is impossible. I would never snatch your domains from you. And I am not an indian giver. I gave you those domains and you bought sgusucks and I am now going to GoDaddy to reset the email address to yours so that you can change the passwords and whatever else you want to do. I suggest you get private registration so that your personal info is not shown.

Anyways, this REALLY means a lot that you have stated this openly. THANK YOU. Now, about those people here who think you are me, well....when they get back from possum hunting and lynching escaped slaves, you might try to convince him.

Check your AOL email for the password reset message I am going to send from GoDaddy. It would really help if you can come back here and tell everyone that you have regained control. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU.

Sky, please tell me which email to send the password to? Without putting the whole address, is it the @aol one or the @sgusucks.com one?
