Btw, you posted it twice....
Anyway where did he say you are nobody (or what exactly of his words did he mean in such way)?
I was actually told that once by a certain "famous" person in a mod gaming community, but well...

ROFL, as expected, what else could you expect from them? I mean come on, after all it's the same group of morons who changed their name form Sci-Fi to Syfy.

Of course they are going to keep their heads in their asses and say everything is fine and normal. Having profit at stake they're not going to say the truth "yeah I fucked up like an idiot".

The key lies in the ratings and that's something he isn't even confident about, everything else is just defensive spin.

The fact that he responded means you hit their nerves and they needed to do some damage control.

(I'll move this over so you can delete the dupe post)

Well ain't that something? We'll see how smug this becomes once the NBC/Comcast transaction goes thru and they start looking for dead wood.

Sure fans criticized SG/SGA but I saw that more as a plea for fine tuning, never an outright plea to flush the whole current steaming pile which has been dumped on them.

Ratings sure aren't steady. The first 3 were distributed on iTunes for Thor's sake. And that after a year of promotion. And now it seems if I watch (ain't gonna happen) a file download twice three months later that will count as well.

Read the comments there. Most of them are more interested in the food. Who's Maureen Ryan? LOL fanboys with blinders on. And I've already delivered my lecture on trolls.

I don't really worry about SGU anymore. I'm just waiting for it to crash and burn. Gayteworld doesn't even garner more than a handful of comments in their news section anymore. And their SGU news now seems to consist of Chloe sightings.

In the end I think they've backed themselves into a corner by producing so many shows without gauging fan reaction during the process. It would be interesting to see what changes are being made to season 2. There's far more than a few "trolls" that think this series is crap.

BTW Kobe does this mean you won't be getting a free tour of the sets as Mr. Mallozzzzi's guest?

“That’s not to say some criticism of the show isn’t valid, only that it’s kind of silly to point and say: “Hey, all these people agree with me, therefore I must be right!””

My first response to this statement was a sigh.

It’s interesting how views can vary.  On the inside looking out, it must seem as though a bunch of people just don’t know how to appreciate the masterpiece that he and his associates have doled much of their time and energy into.  And if SGU were an inside project, for an inside group of people, he’d be rightly justified in his view of things (although he remains entitled to his view regardless of what anyone thinks or knows).  But, SGU is a television show for the public.  So, the majority that “agrees” on whether the show is good or bad ends up being right, at least as to whether a show survives or fades away, in the end.

My second response was “We’ll see.”  We’ll see how many seasons this show lasts.  We’ll see.  We’ll see how well the ratings ultimately do.  We’ll see.  We’ll see whether or not the critical acclaim ever rolls in.  We’ll see.  We’ll see which side represents the majority.  We’ll see.  We’ll see.

I still feel pretty good about what I think will happen.  (Kobe, I hope you like Kettle Corn.)  However, there’s still the possibility that season 2 will be better.  We’ll see.

It’s no skin off of my nose if this thing actually manages to be a success, however unlikely that may be.  All I want is a decent ending to Atlantis, and then they can most likely count me out as a fan for any future Stargate projects (aside from the last SG-1 movie).  Or, just say it’s never going to happen, and I’ll move on.

I didn’t watch SGU expecting it to be Atlantis.  But, I did expect it to be as good as Atlantis was (to me) when it started.  That didn’t happen.

And then there's this one:

"Overmind One also writes: “But when people turn your show off, it affects your future as the producer of Stargate and its ancillary products and movies. Your reputation is at stake, and I know that is VERY important to you.”
Answer: Of course it is however, after 16+ seasons of television and two movies, I think our reputation is fairly solid. I certainly would be delighted with another fifteen years or so on the air but when the franchise finally runs its course (or, more likely, I end up running my course), rather than bemoan the end, I’ll instead look back on all we’ve accomplished – on all three shows – with great pride and the satisfaction of knowing that while we were respectful to fans and receptive to their opinions and critiques, we nevertheless remained true to our creative vision."

This needs a revision.  They've been partially respectful much of the time.  They've been fully respectful part of the time.  And they've been downright disrespectful the rest of the time, or at least during the last year or more.  However, I must say, he did a mighty fine job on the sugar-coating there. All that's missing is the cherry on top.  Kidding aside, I wonder about the being true to their creative vision thing.  Atlantis had a lot of inconsistencies that people have noticed.  Where was their creative vision in explaining why the Wraith went from being almost impossible to kill to one shot and they drop.  But hey, this leads me to another quote:

"More telling, on the other hand, would be the erosion in Atlantis’s ratings over its third and fourth season. By your own logic, this would suggest fans were tired of the old formula and wanted something new."

More telling is the fact that people not being able to stand the WRITING for SGU suggests that fans are tired of the old writers and want someone new.  There was NOTHING wrong with the Atlantis formula.  There was something wrong with the writing for Atlantis.  And from the question people answered on his blog this past week, my impression is that many of them were essentially asking for Atlantis on a ship.  Even Brad said that when he and Rob first pitched SGU to fans they said they wanted Atlantis.  People didn't want the show to be switched out, they wanted the writing to get better.  And if that meant that some of the writers for the show changed, then, so be it.  Many, many people have said this.  Changing shows isn't going to fix the writing if the main writers stay the same or don't get better.  The last 2 seasons of Atlantis mostly came off as lazily written to me, and season 5 had poor or no real direction.  I also noticed that the best seasons (to me) were the ones that had more variety in the writing room.  One of the better writers for Atlantis, the one that had some talent for Sci-Fi AND drama without it being ridiculous, got scooped up by HBO.  So, they don't even have that now.  Maybe next season, I guess?  Mr. Mallozzi said something about bringing in new writers.  I don't really care; I won't be watching.

UPDATE

Okay, Gero wrote pretty well for Atlantis most of the time.  Trio was one of the most boring episodes I've ever watched in my life.  I think that came from them wanting to shove the new characters (new to Atlantis) in the audience's face.  And, he was partially responsible for the thing that was Keller.  All of that aside, he wrote some of the best episodes like First Contact.  Cooper did pretty well too, but he only wrote like one episode per year, so one could argue that he had more time for his episodes to be good.  Just wanted to make that clear.

Answer: Actually, the ratings were steady, maintaining most of its audience from the season premiere, until the final episode.  Was it a blip?  Can’t say.  The numbers for the back half will tell the story.  More telling, on the other hand, would be the erosion in Atlantis’s ratings over its third and fourth season.  By your own logic, this would suggest fans were tired of the old formula and wanted something new.

I made my first post on JM's blog. Mostly trying to defend the fact that the ratings have dropped. I quoted the graph that is posted and one of the reviews. If JM hasn't seen this site yet I'm gussing he might now.

The rating for SGU have dropped
( http://www.sgusucks.com/ratings.html ) Unless you are counting the live+7 for SGU, which if you are you can’t compare to SGA.

“When Stargate Atlantis premiered in 2004, it drew in 4.2 million viewers. If I were to quote percentages like Syfy likes to do, SGU’s premiere only drew in 56% of the audience that SGA had. (Did they have DVR numbers in 2004? Oh… no?). The 4.2 million viewers was the biggest ratings for any of their series’, up to that point.” ( http://screenrant.com/nbc-spin-stargate-universe-ratings-brusimm-41224/ )

Good way to spead the word about the site.  Although, I'd bet money that he already knows about us.  It should go through.  There's nothing offensive in it, and it's true.  I wonder what he'll have to say to that.

Alright, I just checked the blog and it doesn't look like he "approves" of your post.  As of now, I can't see where it's been approved.  I assume you posted under the February 5th blog-post, but I also checked others and the comments page for your post and, as of now, it's not there.

I recall him saying why he would delete a post:

"Answer: It rarely happens, but I do delete the occasional comment if: a) it’s spam, b) it’s a repeat post, c) the poster asks me to delete it, or d) someone’s being a dick.  Since it seems unlikely yours was a repeat post or that you requested the post’s removal, may I inquire as to whether or not you were attempting to sell me Viagra?"

Okay, so:

a) It wasn't spam.

b) It wasn't a repeat post.

c) I doubt that you asked him to delete it.

d) You weren't being a dick, just stating facts.

He might have not liked the name sgusucks, but I've seen usernames and/or comments that went farther than that, or at least were on par with it.  He might not have liked the link to the site that you provided, but again, he's allowed other people to post links on his blog that pan SGU.  And, the part of this site that your link was directed at was the ratings page, not the forum.  So, nothing inappropriate there.

I'm not calling Mr. Mallozzi a liar.  It's possible that he didn't delete your post.  I'll just say that perhaps your comment will be "awaiting moderation" indefinitely.  Too bad.  Some negative nellies just can't take the truth.

@Kobe

No worries.  If you weren't going the nice route, he probably wouldn't be posting your comments either.  You gave a good reply to Squall78, who I think is a moderator at the Syfy forums.  I just think that many fans didn't want Atlantis to end so soon, especially the way that it did.  It just needed some better writing and an appropriate amount of attention, which I think it didn't get during its last 2 seasons.  I don't mind them doing something new; they just shouldn't have tossed the old favorite to the wind without a care.  I can respect the fact that Mr. Mallozzi has been fair and decent with fans like yourself on occassion.  But, I don't respect some of his past behavior, and he has a long way to go before I can get back to respecting him as a person.  He let my comment go through without taking the low road with it, and that's something.  At this point, it's just not enough.  That's just me, though.

Have fun in Vegas!

THANKS! But remember, we are dealing with a man who thrives on attention and prestige. One must smooch a little on ass cheek to get approved. Just a smidge. I always add "I can respect that" and "thanks for being a man".
LMAO.  Too true, Kobe.  I've said it before; his blog is his pedestal.  It's sad, really.

Also, you are right about the name. For Joe, it might as well say "FUCKYOUJOE" and he is not likely to approve it.
You know what's crazy, though?  I've literally read where a poster has said that they were going to find him and punch him in the face, and I think I remember someone calling him an asshole, and he approved those posts.  There's got to be a little bit more too it.  Perhaps he didn't want more people to know about this website than do.  I mean, it doesn't make sense not to approve a link to an article that most or many people already know about, and a graph giving ratings info that's already widely available.   I think he (or someone) is afraid of this site gaining traffic.  The less people that know about sgusucks.com, (I'm thinking they believe ends up being) the better.

And, it was your reply showing up in my email that got me over here just now.  I only check that email account about once per week, so, good timing.  I must say that your avatar made me laugh.  I'll admit that my first thought was "Why not, he eats everything else."  LOL
