Hey Everybody!

Wow, thanks for being willing to drink a bottle of Pepto for the cause.   Alright, I’ve come up with assignments based on what people said they were willing to do, and what they preferred.   Here they are:

11. Space    --------------  AdamTM

12. Divided --------------    Overmind One

13. Faith  ----------------   Spacejunkminer

14. Human --------------     Stonelesscutter

15. Lost -----------------   Atlantis4Life

16. Sabotage -----------     Mitchelluva

17. Pain -----------------    Piginpoo

18. Subversion ---------     Stonelesscutter

19. Incursion Part 1  ---      Overmind One

20. Incursion Part 2  ---      Piginpoo

If anyone has an issue with their slot(s), or if they don’t want 2 slots, then please let me know and we can do some more shuffling.  At the end of the season, I'm thinking of perhaps a few of us doing first half, back half, and whole season reviews for the Episode Guide/Reviews page.

Also, does anyone want to do reviews on the first half?  We don't have to, but I think it might be good to complete the first season.  I've seen all of the first half, so I don't mind pitching in on whatever episode if you guys think doing the first half is a good idea.
Acknowledged!

I really think that you or Adam should take the Incursion (Pt1) episode, because you guys are the most prolific writers and that episode will develop Rhona Mitra's character in the series. I want to see your takes on the impact of those new characters. But I will still write one if you want...those reviews will be open for commentary, after all!

Alright, for you Kobe, I'll do it.  For you.     I have no idea what I'm getting myself into here, but we'll see.  You slick guy, you.  You've got me doing 2 eps and now you're just doing one.  If you want to do a review for Incursion pt 1, you're still free to do so, though.

Okay Everybody

Here is the revised list:

11. Space    --------------  AdamTM

12. Divided --------------    Overmind One

13. Faith  ----------------   Spacejunkminer

14. Human --------------     Stonelesscutter

15. Lost -----------------   Atlantis4Life

16. Sabotage -----------     Mitchelluva

17. Pain -----------------    Piginpoo

18. Subversion ---------     Stonelesscutter

19. Incursion Part 1  ---     Atlantis4Life/AdamTM,  a dual review because it “double sucks“?

20. Incursion Part 2  ---     Piginpoo

You guys are all very brave - thanks for volunteering (so I don't have to) - and good luck!

I will try to watch a few minutes here and there, so I can participate in the discussions, but there's about a snowball's chance in hell I'll be able to stomach another entire episode.

Okay, I just looked up Incursion at GW.  Here’s what Mr. Mallozzi is promising for the 2 part finale:

"Incursion" is the working title of the two-part season finale of Stargate Universe. This episode title was revealed by consulting producer Joseph Mallozzi (who also wrote the episode) on his blog.

"There has been some discussion of making the story idea Rob pitched out for episode 17 the season finale. I think it would be a wonderfully Holy ****! way to cap off the Universe's first year. Blazin'!"
(Consulting producer Joseph Mallozzi, in a post at his blog)

"I eventually made my way back up to the offices and where I chatted with Brad about episodes 18, 19, and 20. He and Rob have some fantastic notions for the stretch run that promise to cap off SGU's first season with a bang! And plenty of surprises."
(Consulting producer Joseph Mallozzi, in a post at his blog)

"Normally, when I'm given the green light on a story idea, I can head off on my own, spin it and beat out an outline inside of a week, but I seem to have hit the wall with episodes 19 and 20 [now 18, 19 and 20 - Ed.]. Part of the problem rests with the fact that, when I break a story, I start at the beginning and work my way through. Unfortunately, the idea pitched out for episode 19 [Paul Mullie's 'Subversion,' now #18] is fairly complex and full of TBD's ('To Be Decided's' for those not in the know).

"Paul suggested we work backward from episode 20, but that is easier said than done given that 20 is fraught with TBD's as well. Working backward is the right idea, but our starting point should actually be Season Two. Sometime in the next two weeks, we're going to have to sit everyone down and establish a game plan for the back half and beyond. That way, we can all head off on hiatus with a script assignment -- and, more importantly, come back from hiatus with SGU's first season stories locked down."
(Consulting producer Joseph Mallozzi, in a post at his blog)

"With three days to go before the official start of our summer hiatus, I was back in the office today, trying to figure out the beat sheet for the big SGU Season One finale (hint: the title rhymes with the name of the preceding episode). Lots going on in this one and this first pass was really just an attempt to establish the major beats, who is where doing what and why, and the general escalation of the action. Tomorrow, I get down to details and start running the character through lines, ensuring that all the individual beats track and, hopefully, dovetail in step with the plot. Some wonderful shocks in this one, big and small."
(Consulting producer Joseph Mallozzi, in a post at his blog)

"A rare burst of creative energy today! I revised the Tease and Act I of episode 20, getting the latter down to a more manageable 16 pages, then made some significant headway on Act II, shaping up to be a robust 14 pages. All the characters are in play but two so, tomorrow, I'm going to go over what I've got and make them a little more prominent, thread them into the existing story a little better. This being the season finale, I think it's important that all of the characters get their turn to shine."
(Consulting producer Joseph Mallozzi, in a post at his blog)

"Yes, it will be a bigtime cliffhanger."
(Consulting producer Joseph Mallozzi, in a post at his blog)

"I had only planned on finishing up Act IV of Script #2 today but, as expected, got on a roll and ended up sailing through Act V to finish the darn thing. The second script is a robust 53 pages (52 full) and contains what is, without a doubt, the biggest HOLY #%&@! ending I have ever written. I mean, I knew what was going to happen but, as I was writing toward it and the different pieces of the story were falling into place, I decided to go with a little something different in the lead-up and ... well, it's quite the eyebrow-raiser. Actually, the double eyebrow-raiser. Hell, the truth is, you don't have enough eyebrows to make it work. Trust me."
(Consulting producer Joseph Mallozzi, in a post at his blog)

"[Carl Binder] dropped by my office today to offer his opinion. Yes, I agreed, the B story will require some rethinking and there are a few sequences that will need some tweaking but, happily, Carl found it exciting, well-paced and seemed quite intrigued by the ending. And, most importantly, he felt it worked well as two scripts. Hopefully, the others will feel the same."
(Consulting producer Joseph Mallozzi, in a post at his blog)

"Finally received notes on both scripts today. Thankfully (and most importantly) everyone agrees that it's a two-episode story. 'I can't believe we thought this was only one episode' were Paul's words. Anyway, some terrific suggestions that will help clarify certain elements, address a few outstanding issues, and generally tighten things up. I tend to hate rewrites, but this one (technically, these two) actually looks like it could be a lot of fun."
(Consulting producer Joseph Mallozzi, in a post at his blog)

"Some discussion on 'Incursion' I and II this afternoon (episodes #19 and #20 -- as if you didn't know!). Brad will be taking over duties on both scripts as he'll be producing the episodes. We discussed, among other things: clarifying who is where doing what (a special request from Paul), the challenges of guest casting, and the workings of alien tech."
(Consulting producer Joseph Mallozzi, in a post at his blog)

"Brad will be starting his pass on 'Incursion' I and II this weekend. In retrospect, I reconsidered my earlier critique and told him that, believe it or not, I had no notes and thought the scripts were pretty good as they were. He thanked me and pointed out that I’d written them so he wasn't really expecting me to have notes. On the other hand, Paul and Carl had a few. And Brad had some terrific ideas that will make the finale one helluva ride. I wish I could watch the reaction of the cast as they read the scripts. NO ONE IS SAFE!"
(Consulting producer Joseph Mallozzi, in a post at his blog)

A casting call has gone out for a character named Kiva, set to appear in a 3-episode arc. We are speculating based on the shooting timeframe that this is the final three episodes of Season One. The casting call has been posted at SpoilerTV:

[KIVA] (35-45, female). Strong willed commander of the Lucian Alliance. Who will do whatever it takes to safeguard her people even if it is at the ultimate expense of the Destiny crew. THREE EPISODE GUEST ARC; Submit all ethnicities. STAR NAMES PREFERRED.

The Lucian Alliance is a group of thieves and mercenaries who organized after the downfall of the Goa'uld, taking control of their ships for their own interests ("The Ties That Bind"). When Ha'tak motherships attack the Icarus Base in the series premiere, "Air, Part 1," there is speculation among the Destiny crew that it might be the Lucian Alliance. The appearance of a Lucian Alliance character at the end of the first year may lend credence to that theory.

Guest characters in the two-part finale include Kiva, Calvos, Koz, Scientist, and Squad Member #1.

Actress Rhona Mitra (Nip/Tuck, Boston Legal) has been cast in the role of Kiva, Syfy announced. She will appear in the final three episodes of the season.
(GateWorld news report)

"This afternoon, we watched Brad's producer's cut of 'Incursion I.' Plenty of suspense, lots of action, and some outstanding performances make it a terrific precursor to the season finale. Wow."
(Consulting producer Joseph Mallozzi, in a post at his blog)

Amanda Tapping will return as Samantha Carter at the end of the season, along with the U.S.S. George Hammond. The exact episode(s) in which Tapping appears is not yet known.

"I've done two episodes. I did their first two-parter and I'm at the very end of their season. And I just shot that a few weeks ago. So I started their season and I'm ending their season, which was very cool. But I didn't get to play with anyone. If they were ever to have me come back, I'd want to be with people! I'm kind of off on my ship, which I think is awesome.

"I have to say, when I got to work, and I saw the uniform and the General Hammond crest on it, I teared up. I think it's a great honor to, not only Don, but to the character. So that was very cool. But I'm up in my ship and I don't get to play with anyone."
(Actress Amanda Tapping, in an interview with The Huffington Post)

"Today, we watched the Day 1 mix of 'Incursion I.' Magnifique! An episode full of action, anguish, intrigue and suspense. And Joel's score is phenomenal. Can't wait to watch 'Incursion II' to find out how it ends."
(Consulting producer Joseph Mallozzi, in a post at his blog)

"Wray is a civilian with a background in Human Resources and while, at first blush, the skills she possesses may seem impractical in a space-faring scenario, Camile will step to the fore later this season, especially when all hell breaks loose in the show's two-part season finale. And then there's that hate-hate relationships she's got going on with Greer. We'll be exploring that throughout -- and in very interesting fashion later."
(Consulting producer Joseph Mallozzi, in a post at his blog)

NEW! March 6 - "This afternoon, we watched the Day 2 Mix of 'Incursion I.' Action! Suspense! Cameos! And a most atypical death!"
(Consulting producer Joseph Mallozzi, in a post at his blog)

I know that this is supposed to sound exciting, but my head hurts.  Now, I can see why you didn't want to do this one, Kobe.  I like Rhona Mitra from Boston Legal, though.  I think she played an ex-madame turned attorney.  I guess I'll see what happens.

@SexyDexy

Thanks for wishing us luck.  I'm already thinking about how I'm going to have to keep from throwing up AND staying awake while all of this excitement is supposed to be happening.  Blah.

I have already secretly () started working on a written version of the 'Air' episode. It will give everyone a chance to read what actually happened in that ep just in case anyone (new visitors perhaps) would want to do so. I plan on writing a review of it after that. I might be doing all episodes that aired up till now but I'm not sure how it'll all work out so I'm not making any promises yet.

I have nooo idea. I'll see what I can manage. I pretty much cut everything that has something to do with the stones out of it, so I may end up with some pretty empty episodes.

LOL

I've downloaded some eps from FQM when I couldn't find the EZTV release yet.
Probably downloaded some of LOL's in the past as well, the other ones I don't know.
The great thing about EZTV is that they have their own site as well (www.eztv.it) with tons of tv shows on it.

Stonless get the wank off my screen (you can keep it on everyone elses if you want).

By the way guys got the message loud and clear Faith is my episode and I vow to try to keep an objective mind (even if it kills me (especially if it kills me)).

By the way, Have had the worst day this year thus far.  Did a major report and my partner totally f***ed me in terms of helping me.  What is worse I really like the guy.  Now I have a really good reason to hate him and a dwindling reasons to like him.

It was all over a report and he turned it in one minute late at 11:59.  I gave it to him around seven pm.  All he had to do was add a paragraph (if he wanted ) and then turn it in.   AAAAAAEEEREREERRRRRGGGGGGG!!!!!!!  I really just want to hit someone right now.  It would be much better if i didn't know this guy from adam.

THANKS!  We need your help on doing review/recaps of the first half of the show.  Stonelesscutter already did Air 1 & 2.  I'm willing to do Time.  It wasn't that exciting, but that's about the only one that I can watch again to do a proper recap.  That leaves 7 more episodes.

How many are you willing to do?  Since you said ANY episode, can I count you in for at least 3-4?

Stoneless already said he doesn't care what he's left with if he does more, so you can pick.  Let me know.  And, thanks again!

@Stonelesscutter

Hey, buddy.  I'm not sure about the new sig...   But, getting to business, if I do the Time episode, and US0 does 3-4, are you willing to do the rest?

I saw your post for Air 1&2 and your recap was great.  Can't wait to see your review.  Thanks for whatever you can do, buddy.

UPDATE:

Alright, I wasn't looking your avatar when I first saw your new sig.  I see now, the damn thing is creeping away from Mr. Mallozzi.  It must be tired from overuse.  To each his own.  Cheers.

Thanks for doing the Faith episode.  I look forward to seeing your recap/review.

Sorry to hear about the day you've had.  Likeable doesn't mean trustworthy always.  There are some people you just can't rely on, even if you keep giving them chances.  I've dealt with my fair share of that, and I hope that this isn't the case with your partner.  Perhaps this time was just some kind one time error for him, even if it's a big one.

Here's for today truly being the worst day for the whole year, and may all of your other days be better.

Cheers.    Sometimes it's just one of those days...

6.    Water -----  US06154
7.    Earth ------  US06154

Question:  Where will we post it, is there a forum page for the reiviews that is already up?  Are we going to do our individual post and post it in the forum?   If we do that it will be out of order.  I have at least four weeks until i have to worry about it but between now an then i'll need an answer.

I answered this in my first post on this thread:

"What would happen is that you’d get/pick an episode from the list below that you will do a recap/review on.  Each week, I will have a discussion thread started on Thursday night for that Friday’s episode.  Please do not watch SGU live/on DVR.  Once you have viewed the episode by torrent/hulu/whatever, please post your review in the thread for that episode, and then we will also move it to our episode guide page with you as the author.  If the discussion thread is very lengthy and your post is lost in the shuffle, I’ll also post it at the top of the thread so that many of us that don’t watch will easily be able to read about what happened and then follow along with, and/or participate in, the discussion. "

They'll be out of order as 10 separate threads in the forum, although the current episode will be easily found at the top.  All 20 episodes will be in order on the episode guide page.

Cheers.
